Can You Love Your Body And Still Want Change?

A lot of times people feel dissatisfaction & unhappiness because they think that if they have a goal, (e.g. I want to lose 10 lbs by the summer), then everything before that is not as good.  

Striving for something different does NOT mean that there is something “wrong” with you right now.  If you want to lose weight to get healthier… That’s awesome!  AND that is not at odds with being okay with where you are right now.

On the flip side, being 100% happy and grateful for where you are at does not keep you from striving for more.  Being proud that you can bust out 30 pushups does not stop you from aiming to do 10 more next time!

At every single point in my life, I have wanted something more or something different.  I’ve wanted (and still do want) to be stronger, faster, smarter and more skilled in all areas of my life.  Over the years I have experienced being discontent & ungrateful for my circumstances, which I later learned leads me nowhere.  It was only once I chose to change my perspective and practice gratitude for where I am at, that I could begin making real positive changes in my life. It truly is all in the journey, my friends. 

If your goal is to lose weight, don’t hate your body through the process.  It will only prevent you from seeing change.  Rather, begin by loving all that you are at every step of the way. Then you will see the magic start happening!  You can both pursue change AND be cool with where you are currently at. 

I encourage you to think about how you can hold gratitude & appreciation for what you have now AND eagerly anticipate for becoming the best version of yourself.
